Can you believe it?

When we were away we had to pull out our old memory card for the camera - when I put it in I first wondered how a picture of Christian got on it - especially since we never use this card. I almost instantly realized that it wasn't Christian but Ethan. It must have been one of the first pictures we took with our camera and for some reason it was never down loaded. Looking at this picture makes me a little sad - my baby is growing up so quickly. He is already five going on fifteen. Sometimes I'm sad that our baby days are probably all gone. I try to cherish every ounce of Christian as I know that it whips by at lightening speed. I'm excited for the future and for doing big kid things but when you've looked forward to having a baby your whole life it's hard to believe that that stage is probably over. (until the grand kids come) Mom's (and dad's) try to treasure every ounce of your time with your crying, screaming, driving you nuts baby, toddler, preschooler, kindergartener etc. b/c before you know it they'll be grown up. I try to remember that and when I do I'm a better mom. Enjoy them!:)

Pine Cones - Who would've thought

We were at my mom and dad's tonite for dinner. After dinner we went for a walk and Aiden was ripped off b/c we didn't go to the park. So, Rich threw a pine cone at him. Well, for the next half hour or more we had a pine cone fight. It was so much fun. Not as cold as a snow ball fight and a lot easier to run. Though, when you get one right in the face, ear or general head area it hurts. It's so much fun when the simple things bring such enjoyment and can be turned into a memory!

Last day

We went to their little aquarium and saw the sea lion show. To keep Christian enterained Rich started to blow raspberries on his tummy. Rich stopped but Christian loved it so much that he would push Rich's head down to continue on. Christian loved the sea lions - he didn't move the entire show!! We ate at a restaurant and the kids got Gorrilla masks. They had great food but I can't remember their name right now. There is a big whale in the middle of the mall and Ethan wanted his picutre taken pretending to be Jonah (and the whale) so all three boys ended up in their pretending to pray. then Ethan pretended to be thrown up out of the big fish - it was quite dramatic.

Drive and Stay

On the way to Edmonton we took two days and on the way home we took one. I thought the one day would be really hard but it was fine. The two older boys were awesome on the ride. They had their toys and we had a couple of dvds. Aiden would say "me bored" every once in a while but it was so cute that it didn't bother us. Christian didn't apprciate the drive so much. We had a few screams and howls - especially for a couple of hours on the long day. I'ld recommend doing it in one - it wasn't too tiring like we thought it would be and the boys were great. On our way up and on the way home we met with snow but everything went fine. Rich drove and I got to watch his speed (which he wanted me to do) it was great to tell him to slow down and have him thanking me:) We did see one car that went off the road.

We stayed at the travel lodge - don't recommend it. The room was about as big as two double beds - the doors were pathetic -you could see light all around them b/c of their openings, the elevator didn't work for most of the time ( five floors up) - which wasn't too bad - we got our exercise. Except we order from the restaurant downstairs and poor Rich had to carry this huge monster tray up with four plates of food, cutlery, condiments and drinks on it. He did a great job. When he took it back down the waitress took it from him -rounded the corner and dropped the thing. Anyways, it was a pretty cheap place to stay - it had a pool that was great for kids and a hot tub and it was very close to the mall. It didn't really matter where we stayed - we had a great time. Would totally do it again. It was great to get away from the normal routine of life.

Rides, rides and more rides.

After the water park we went on the rides. The boys loved those. Their favs. were the airplanes (Ethan) and the motorcycles (Aiden). Christian loved all of them and cried whenever he got off. I even went on the big one - can't remember the name right now. Christian was a little over tired from the day before and at lunch time we had a major melt down. I was so frustrated that I took for a walk to try to get him to go to sleep. He was yelling and crying so loud that people were looking at us. Thankfully he fell asleep or we would have had to of left. This picture was taken after the nap. The boys were so excited when the train ride opened up - it didn't open until the last couple of hours. All three had fun on it. It is so much fun to do these things with our kids!

Water slides

I think our most fun day was at the waterpark. The kids all had a blast. We were there from 10:30 until 4:30 and Ethan was still going strong. They have lots for little kids to do. Ethan went on every slide he could. Actually, all the boys did. Christian was quite perturbed that he couldn't go on the big slides. They are all water boys. Aiden was a little nervous first about climbing up and coming down a few of the slides but it only took one time down to get him into it. If you ever go spend five bucks to rent a tube for the waves - we should have but it'll be more fun to do that when they are a little older.

The poop hit the fan...

Okay, here is an update. I've been wanting to write about our Edmonton trip but we've been a little busy. But right now I have a few moments so lets see what can be said. This picture reflects the funniest thing that happened on our trip. I read on the internet that when you travel with kids you should take along your potty and when they have to poop you place a diaper in it and they poop in that. Toss the diaper and all is clean. Well, Rich thought he would take it a step further and instead of packing up the poop in the diaper he decided to fling it. It worked the first time but as you can see it didn't work the second time. The poop came back and landed all over him. It was the funniest thing. (at least in my opinion)

Movie Night

Movie night has become a bit of a tradition for us. I remember as a kid getting junk food, watching a kids movie with my parents and brother and then camping downstairs while they watched their movie. We have not adopted the sleeping downstairs part yet but we have started to rent kid movies, get pizza and some chocolate and have a great time. So far Ethan is most into it - Aiden is pretty into it and Christian mostly enjoys strewing food all over the living room floor. It's something we all look forward to every couple of months.

Exercise

I didn't even know that Aiden knew what exercise was until he asked me to watch him exercise. We went into the kitchen - he held unto the train table and then started to "run". That's his exercise!!

My Little Fireman

My baby is 18 months old and I can't believe it!! Well, he is closer to 19 but I didn't have time to do a little photo shoot of him so here he is as a Fireman! He loves to dress up with his brothers . Today he called his brothers "BA, Ba" - he was copying them as they call him "Bad, Bad". It's great what the youngest child learns.
