Yesterday we decided to go for a walk at Derby Reach park (have to enjoy the sunshine!) and of course we made the boys do the mandatory pee before we left. Well, who do you think the first one to the bathroom was? Of course you know b/c the picture is right here but anyways there was Christian standing in front of the toilet waiting to go pee. He even lifted his shirt up like Aiden and then for some reason (undershirt) couldn't find his bits and pieces to make it all work. He kept rubbing his tummy!! Christian is going to want to pee standing b/f he even knows how to sit!:) Alright went to add the pictures and it won't let me - I'll add it when I can.

Lessons times three!
You know that each child needs to learn similar things and that you are going to be the one to teach them. Some things are fun to teach each one - how to sit, roll over, ride a bike, play with playdough, paint, go up stairs, go down stairs- some things aren't so fun - TOILET TRAINING (that sums up that category) and some things are down right frustrating - not throwing food on the floor, not grabbing toys, not yelling, and long trains. We've had to teach Ethan all of the above, Aiden all oft he above and now it's Christian's turn - with the trains! I've decided that each little boy has to go through a frustrating time in his life when trains just don't work the way he wants them too. Christian figures 4,5, or 6 train cars would be good - however, he cannot push/pull them properly so they always fall of the track - I try to explain that a 2 or 3 car train would work better but it doesn't work. He cries, he yells, he points, he insists on having a big train - until I take them away and then he still cries, yells and points but it is only louder. I know this phase will pass - it kind of has with the other two. Well, not really but they can control their trains better and know that if they start throwing a hissy fit the trains will disappear.
Yippee!!
Just finished watching the Canucks game - quite exciting that they've made it to the next round. I'm not a big hockey fan during the year but love the playoffs. I thought they were going to lose but they proved me wrong. The boys will be thrilled -well Ethan anyways. He has suddenly become really interested in hockey and soccer (watching it). Of course his favourite part of hockey (and Aiden's too) is the singing of the national anthem - they love it! One night last week I went out scrap booking and left the boys, all four of them, sitting on the couch watching the playoffs. So cute - though in a couple of years I probably won't think it's so cute - I'll either have to become a sports lover or buy a TV for the bedroom!! Thought I had taken a picture of the four of them on the couch - guess not. Oh, I found a picture of the three boys intently watching the game.

We're going to Liverpool!
Yipppeeee! We decided last week to book tickets to go to Liverpool in July. Rich's grandma turns 90 so almost his entire family is going over there. Should be a great time - though a few days before that we had decided that Rich would go by himself so not too sure if he is thrilled about having 4 tag alongs (well not too thrilled maybe about 3 of them!). Not to sure if either of us is thrilled at the prospect of a 8-9 hour long airplane ride with Christian. Oh, well we'll make it and who knows he could suddenly turn into a kid who loves to sit on our laps and doesn't love to walk around!! We have been tossing the idea around of using children's gravol on him and then last night (up at 3 in the morning thinking about this) I realized that we might not be able too. You see, I just figured that we would bring the bottle with us - liquid is best we've been told plus he probably couldn't chew a pill - but that is when it hit me that we probably can't b/c of the liquid restriction on planes. We can bring milk for him but we'll most likely have to taste it - would they make us do that for gravol? And then I started to think about Tylenol - last time we flew we gave some to the boys to help with any ear pain - but guess what that is liquid too - OH _ brain wave you can now buy the dissolveable children's Tylenol -phew we're safe.
I was also thinking - at 3 in the morning - about the prospect of renting a car. Gotta do it. We were going to use our airmiles to rent it but have discovered that it would only cost us 140 bucks more to pay for it with good old cash. So, what is one to do - use up all of our airmiles or just dole out 140 more dollars and save the airmiles? Also, do we get the extra insurance just in case Rich has a brain fart and doesn't remember how to drive on the wrong side of the road and we crash or if some Liverpudlian (or Liverpoolian can't remember which on it is) decides to steal our car. Anyways these thoughts kept me away - annoying. Any thoughts on my dilemmas - thankfully they aren't really that big of a deal or I would never sleep!! Have a great day.

Last Easter Hurrah!
Today we had Easter with my family. We had a delicious lunch and dinner there. The kids had their typical huge Easter Egg hunt - as you can see in the picture. The kids get that loot and then a bigger chocolate from Great Aunts, and regular Aunts too (I guess it's also from the Uncles too). They then did Easter Eggs and of course played. They have an old Nintendo and Ethan loved playing that. I discovered something new about my camera. I was telling my cousin about how I love my niece's new camera b/c it takes pictures as quickly as an SLR camera b/c it is a digital SLR and she replied that her camera has a setting to take continuous pictures. Well, her camera is a Canon (same as ours) so I had a look and guess what so does ours. DUH!!!!!! It's only taken me over four years to figure this out about our camera. I think that I need to take out the manual again. Oh, man just thinking about how useful continuous shooting would have been in so many situations. You live and learn!!

Visiting our relatives!
Today we went to the zoo. The kids had a great time - they were almost stuck there with the monkeys but we finally convinced the zoo people to let them come home with us. We decided to buy a years pass. If you go three times it's paid for so we thought that it was worth it. We all love to look at the animals and Ethan is really interested in learning about them. We figure it's only about 10 min. away so we can go when Rich gets home from work or I can take them there myself. It's a good place for the boys to ride their bikes and for them to run. So, if you can't get a hold of us we'll probably be visiting our relatives!:)
Big Cousins
Yesterday we were at my sister-in-laws for Easter dinner and had a great time. The food was very yummy and the kids had a blast. They have cousins that are a lot older then them and it is awesome. As soon as we got their the boys' cousins took them through the little forest area at their house and then stood with them forever throwing leaves and sticks into a little stream. They also took them on the trampoline. What's so great is that these guys don't hang out with our boys b/c they have to but b/c they enjoy seeing them and spending time with them. In case you guys ever read this blog - thanks for making great memories with the boys!!
