Strawberries

We went to Krause Brother's farms on Wed. evening and bought a 15lb flat of strawberries. The boys thought we were going to pick strawberries - if I had known that was something they wanted to try I would've taken a bucket along. Oh well- next year. We bought our strawberries and then sat and enjoyed their berry shortcake - SO delicious!! I think I'll be going back for raspberries, blueberries and anything else they sell just so I can enjoy the desserts!! Anyways, the next day I enlisted the boys to help me make strawberry jam. They loved helping. What fun mashing up berries!! They also put in the pectin, the sugar and stirred it all up. We were going to friend's for dinner so I made a strawberry pie to take. First one I've ever made and it turned out yummy. I brushed on chocolate to the crust and served it with fresh whipping cream. MMMMMM. Then today I chopped up the rest of the berries to freeze. I think if the boys had their way they would've just eaten the entire 15 lbs in one sitting!

Which one would you eat?

Okay that's not really the right question b/c not matter what a cookie looks like I'm going to eat it - unless it's dripping with slobber and then maybe not. So I bought the large bar pan from pamper chef and from my understanding this pan is suppose to make everything turn our fabulous. I tend to disagree. I think it bites at making cookies. This is my second attempt at using it for cookies and both time my cookies have turned out flat (kind of look like an overstretched shirt) and are a yucky, uneven colour. I much prefer my old baker secret pan - the cookies turn out plump and evenly coloured. Anyways, maybe someone out there in blogger world has had better cookie making success and has suggestions. I do enjoy the pan for baking other things such as homemade fries or meat. Don't you worry though - ALL of the cookies will be gone in no time.
PS if you can't tell wich cookie I like best from the picture - it's the one on the left - this picture doesn't really show the true blahness of the pamper chef cookie.

New Post

Hi there - as I was going thru my posts I noticed that one hadn't been published - so there is one from the beginning of june called "a little nutty" - just in case you care. The pics. of Callia sleeping are cute (if I do say so myself).

Preschool Graduation!

Aiden graduated from preschool from last night. It was so much fun! The class sang quite a few songs and Aiden was fantastic. He did all of the actions and sang too. It's so funny b/c out of him and Ethan he is quieter but he is the one who does all of the actions to songs when he sings in front of people. Aiden's teachers then handed out their self book and diplomas. We watched a dvd of the year and then ate. I can't believe I have another one going into school this September. I felt a little teary as Aiden sang his first song - didn't feel as sad about him leaving preschool and heading off to kindergarten as I did about Ethan - probably b/c I know I have two more that are younger than preschool age and that I have one older than him. Don't know if that explanation makes sense to anyone but it does to me. My parents and us gave him star wars lego sets for his grad. presents - he was soooo excited!! That's all he has played with today.

I've had it!

What you see is in the above picture is my last (maybe) bottle of cleaner! No, I'm not going to let the germs invade our house, at least not anymore than they have already, but I've decided to go green. I'm not an environmentalist- maybe it's the rising cost of gas, the cruddy weather - I'm not really sure why but I've decided that I have to do my part to stop buying products that are not good for the environment and probably not that great for us either. We've had a lady give talks about natural cleaning products at our ladies group at church and I think that I'm going to give them a try. She says they're cheaper than regular cleaners so that's a bonus and hopefully they also clean as well - if they do then that's what we'll use from now on. So bring on the vodka!

2 months

-weighing in at 8lbs 16oz

-last night slept 8 1/2 hours straight!!!!

-cried it out and is now falling asleep on her own - in her bed or carseat or stroller and transferring over to any of those and continuing to sleep

-puting weight on her legs

-holding head very steady

-grew a birth mark on her back that should disappear by one

-smiling (so rewarding)

-cooing (loving it)

-eating every 2.5 to 3.5 hours during the day

-last couple of days eating quicker - only 25-30 min. instead of 40

-focusing on objects and people's faces

I'm loving Callia so much!! Though i'm sad she isn't a newborn any more I'm loving her smiles and cooing. I can't wait until she starts to giggle. The boys are enjoying the smiling too. I could eat her up!

Four Generations

It's taken 6 1/2 years but we've done it - we've done a four generation picture. I didn't think it would ever happen - I remember when Ethan was born and Rich had a picture done with him, Ethan and his dad - I thought it was so cool and now I've been able to have one not only with my mom and Callia but also with my Nana too - even more cool.
